The Two of Pentacles.
Meaning according to Arthur Edward Waite- On the one hand it is represented as a card of gaiety, recreation and its connexions, which is the subject of the design; but it is read also as news and messages in writing, as obstacles, agitation, trouble, embroilment. Reverse: Enforced gaiety, simulated enjoyment, literal sense, handwriting, composition, letters of exchange.
Notes: Gaiety makes sense, but I'm not following Waite when he talks about troubling news. I like how the reverse of this is enforced gaiety though, or simulated joy, and I think that could be meaning for the whole card. Like balancing duty with play, and how sometimes play time is ruined by the crushing weight of anxiety about your duties.
