Hammond's Fall Chocolate Bars

I found these two chocolate bars discounted at Target on Tuesday (yesterday) and decided to try them. Bella (the cat) also shared her opinions. 

Candy Corn

Me: The orange goo in the middle is basically generic cupcake frosting. It doesn't taste like candy corn.

Bella: It tasted like vanilla and a crayon.

Caramel Apple

Me: The apple flavor is pretty subtle, it is basically a caramel bar.

Bella: It kind of tastes like a Jolly Rancher.

Conclusion: They aren't bad, but don't be fooled by the "nice" wrapper; these are checkout aisle quality chocolate bars. 

Endangered Species' Blueberry Vanilla Creme Chocolate Bar

Deals & Steals is a place to find discounted food because it was probably on the shelf at some other store for too long. (This explains why the white biz that happens to old chocolate showed up. Which I decided to look up right after typing that sentence and it's called Chocolate Bloom o.O)

Anyway, this bar was ok. The "creme" inside was more of a dust and wasn't very strong compared to the dark chocolate flavor. If I ate this blind I probably would have just thought it was a fruity tasting cocoa.

Halloween Candy Leftovers

 These little trial size packages of special Halloween candy were found at Stop & Shop after the holiday and I picked them up to see how they were. Hit the jump for my impressions.

Candy 001: Starburst Candy Corn and Now & Laters Soft

     Ok folks, I have some sweets to tell you about here on this first post about candy. (Bonus: it's Halloween night!) First up is Starburst Candy Corn. These are fairly new to the Halloween candy scene and I tried a small pack of them last year and loved them. The texture is soft and sort of waxy like a normal candy corn, but somehow the candymancers over at Wrigley manged to get these to taste exactly like their Starburst counterparts. The four classic flavors are here, and Strawberry is still the best one :)
